These new operators will advise commanders on the use of Group 5 unmanned aerial vehicles, such as the Reaper drone. Marine Corps has also renamed MOS 7315 to group 3 unmanned air systems officer. The new MOS will place emphasis on small unmanned aerial vessels, including the MQ-9 Reaper.

Credentialing

The Navy does have a web-based system, but the Marine Corps does not. You can view a list UAV operators' certifications at Navy Credentialing Opportunities On-Line. But if you're an enlisted Marine interested in flying cutting-edge aviation equipment, you can apply for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 7314 instead. Although this MOS does not qualify for the United Services Military Apprenticeship Program, there are a number of other options for pilots to pursue.

Salary range

A Marine Corps drone pilot is one of the most highly paid jobs in America. The salaries for a Marine Corps drone pilot range from $51,000 up to $65,000 While drone pilots in the military are paid higher salaries, there is a wide range of companies outside the military that offer lower salaries. Even though drone pilots from the Marine Corps are paid a high salary, they still have a lot to learn and endure. This makes drone pilot salaries more difficult to calculate.

How To

Repairing a damaged motor on a drone

It is important to first identify which motor part is damaged before you can repair it. The best way to do so is to take the propeller off the motor shaft. Then remove any wires and take a look at the motor's inner workings. If you see something wrong, then you know what part of the motor you have to fix.

If there are no damages to the motor you don't have too much to worry about. However, if your motor looks anything like these images, then you will need some parts replaced before you can fly.

Suppose a motor has been bent up so it won't turn anymore. The motor will need to be bent back into its original shape. You could use a vice grip or a pair of pliers to hold the motor while bending it back into shape. After you have completed this step, be sure to inspect the motor for any signs of wear.

Once you are satisfied with everything, mount the propeller on the motor shaft. Reattach the wires. Now your drone is ready to fly!
